Extended Break – important update

Firstly, I want to say thanks to everyone who has been a brilliant BBUK customer over the years. I have some particular favourites and you all know who you are.

Secondly, most people know that BBUK is not my full time job. I am now doing a post graduate course, and this, combined with work, and my love of roller derby means I cannot devote as much time to BBUK as I used to.

Therefore, I am taking an indefinite break from the BBUK services I provide. I’m sorry about this as I know a lot of people rely on me, but I just can’t provide the level of service I want to. Please subscribe to the blog by email (on the BBUK main page) and I will let you know when I am back again. Anyone who I have parcels for will have theirs sent out ASAP.

I will be on holidays on the above dates. This means I cannot accept any parcel for mail forwarding, or do any custom purchases. Any parcels received while I am away will be forwarded upon my return. I will send all the parcels I have before I go away, provided you have paid the PayPal request!

I’m back!

That’s me back from a few weeks of mayhem. I appreciate you all being so patient and understanding! I have just made it through all the parcels that arrived while I was away, so if you don’t hear from me in the next day or so, send me an email.

Reduced service continues (no new customers)

I am still really busy with work/life – I will be away for most of next week at a conference for work, and then I have Australian friends coming to stay in the BBUK office (e.g. our spare room!). So I cannot take on any new customers and I will be arranging with all existing customers to have their parcels dispatched by Tuesday 10 July 2012.

Price Rise

My fees for Mail Forwarding will be going up on 6 July 2012. Currently I charge £5 per parcel – it will now be £7.50 per parcel.

I am confident that my fees are still the cheapest option available in the UK for mail forwarding overseas.

Parcel Consolidation will remain at £5 per parcel received by me – e.g. if you buy a parcel from Boots, and a parcel from Zara, and want them consolidated, that will be £10 for the mail forwarding.

Custom Purchases are still £10.00.

Unclaimed eBay items

I’ve got a few unclaimed items at the moment – can you please shoot me an email if you’ve had a parcel sent to me, and haven’t heard yet? They are all eBay parcels – these are SO hard for me to keep a track of (I have to manually search through my emails).

In future I ask that you please email me a description of the item in an email, as well as a link to it so I know it’s yours when it comes in. I get at least 30-50 emails per day, so you can imagine how hard it is for me to look through them all matching up eBay orders!

Or better still, just ask the seller to put your name on the parcel as well as mine.

Airsure now available to Australia

Airsure is a great service offered by Royal Mail, and it’s now available to Australia. I would recommend Airsure any time you want tracking and insurance on your parcel. It is slightly more expensive than International Signed For, but has full online tracking for roughly £1 extra compared to International Signed For. Please note that no signature on delivery is taken, so this may affect your decision. If you would like either of these services instead of regular Airmail, just let me know.

Here’s the description of both services:

Royal Mail International Signed For Airmail Packets

When sending small gifts or goods via Airmail that need to be signed for on delivery but do not require the speed of Airsure this is the service to choose. You can send goods, gifts and commercial samples up to 2kg at the Airmail Small Packet postage rateplus the International Signed For fee.

Compensation

We may provide loss or damage compensation of up to £50 with proof of posting and evidence. If you require extra compensation of up to £250 or up to £500 (depending on the country) there is an extra charge per item.

Trackable

International Signed For items are electronically tracked only up to the point they leave the UK.

Royal Mail Airsure

Airsure® can be up to one day faster than Airmail. Items receive priority handling at home and overseas and benefit from an online tracking facility so you can check your mail’s progress along the way right to delivery. Please note that no signature is taken on delivery

Airsure items are electronically scanned at 6 different points, in the UK and overseas to the point of delivery.

Zara Sale

Looks like there’s a mid year Zara sale coming up – Zara only goes on sale twice a year so these events are much sought after. It looks like the sale will start on the 20th of June (it could be earlier though!).

As always, I am happy to do a Custom Purchase for Zara (Zara doesn’t accept international credit cards, or PayPal) but please keep in mind that items tend to sell out very quickly during the sale. I will do my best to get the items you’re after!

Edited: late notice I know, but the sale actually starts on the 28th of June! Sorry! I thought it was the 20th as stores stopped taking orders for collection on that date. If you want anything in the sale just email me!
